This course follows U.S. History from the very beginning right up to President Obama.  Students will examine the role of significant individuals such as Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King and events like the American Revolution, Slavery, The Civil War and the terrorist attack of September 11^th, 2001.  A guiding question in the course is how the U.S developed from 13 separate colonies under British control to the greatest superpower in the history of the world in barely 200 years.
