This course examines travel and tourism as vehicles for learning about selected parts of the world.  Students will become familiar with the unique characteristics of selected tourist destinations in a variety of world settings.  The class will look at the impact that the travel industry has on different tourist destinations throughout the world as well as the cultural and political factors that influence the amount of tourism that an area receives.
