World History: The West and the World, Grade 12 University
Course code:
CHY 4U
This course begins with the artistic revolution of the Renaissance and religious revolt against the Catholic Church in the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century, as Europe becomes the dominant power of the world. Political revolutions follow, with massive political, social and economic changes in England, the United States, France, Russia and China, while the scientific revolutions of Galileo, Newton, Darwin and Einstein advance technology like never before. We will also compare the development of the West with the emergence of several other regions of the world, such as Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
