Good Luck Neilers!
November was Bullying Awareness month. Bullying is a problem that we all have to deal with but often it can be especially serious in our schools. A few weeks ago, our grade ten students attended a screening of a documentary that dealt with bullying and young people (see trailer here). This was part of the Quest Ten program. Our grade eleven big brothers continue to build relationships with their little brothers by meeting with them during asset days.
Neil McNeil HS annual Spirit Walk.
Staff and students take part in our annual fund raising event. We will walk - once again, to the boardwalk for an afternoon filled with great activities. The teachers will once again emerge victorious from the tug-of-war trenches. Gather pledges, pledge a student, come out and celebrate Neil spirit!
The funds raised go to support numerous extra-curriculum activities at the school ranging from athletics to arts and academic clubs and teams.
On Tuesday August 28, a group of Neil student leaders and staff members welcomed our newest members to the Neil McNeil community. Grade nine is an exciting year full of challenges and new experiences, and our big brothers were on hand to welcome their little brothers, and to help them become acquainted with the Neil community. The grade nine students took part in a number of activities, and were treated to a BBQ. A few new staff members were welcomed to the school as well.
