Neil's First Asset Day of the Year a Great Success

Earlier this month, Neil McNeil student leaders ran their first Asset Day of the year. Asset days provide grade 9 Little Brothers, Grade 11 Big Brothers and Caring Adults with the opportunity to engage in a range of exciting and meaningful activities. These activities are grounded in the Developmental Assets Framework - the relationships, values, skills and beliefs that our boys need to become healthy and successful young men.

This month's Asset Day was called Respect/Disrespect. Big Brothers used the circle process to engage their Little Brothers in a discussion that focused on recognizing the important role that all members of the community play in creating a respectful environment. By all accounts, the day was a successful one. The boys were able to identify many different examples of students and staff whose actions help to foster the school's positive learning climate.

Our next Asset Day will take place on Thursday December 2nd, 2010.
