Keep on Trucking
Students in Mr. Scalpello Grade 10 Technological Design Course designed, constructed, and decorated wooden trucks for their culminating activity. Many students personalized their trucks by fabricating articulating rear doors and other moving parts. Using the CNC router, some students elected to have the Neil McNeil Crest carved into the rear box of the truck. Many of the students generously donated their project to children who came to the annual Children’s Christmas Party held at Neil McNeil just before Christmas. Needless to say, the young children loved their gifts.

Just Sitting Around
Grade 11 students in Mr. Scalpello’s first semester Technological Design Course constructed Muskoka Chairs that were sold to raise money for the “Haiti Relief initiative. About $500.00 was raised for this good cause. Many of the students proud of their own workmanship elected to buy the chairs personally.

More chairs will be built in semester two. If interested in purchasing a Muskoka chair, please contact Mr. Scalpello at evan.scalpello@tcdsb.org.
